Diet plans for teens

I get tones of emails about diet plans for teens. I don’t answer teens personally because my understanding is that they need to speak with their parents not to a strange in Internet (aka me). Anyway, I decide to share my personal opinion what should be a good diet plan for a teenager.

The first thing that needs consideration is that teens spend/need more energy compared to an adult person. Or this was true 10 years ago, when computers were not so spread and teens didn’t tent to sit for a long time playing games or chatting.

I will assume that a teenager is more active person who grows and needs a little bit more energy to sustain life. Diet plans for teens can’t be very restrictive in calories; they need to be restrictive by the type of foods but not by calories.

We all know that junk food is not good for the health and you can gain weight if you eat it regularly.

1. It is a cliché but stop eating junk food and you should see quick results and you will start to lose weight immediately.

2. Stop drinking soda.

3. Stop eating sweets more than twice per week.

Follow just these 3 steps and you should see fats weight loss.

Activity is important. Consider sport activity once or twice per week – this will speed your metabolism and combined with above 3 steps is like a fat eraser.

You don’t need diet plans for teens – just don’t eat and drink junk things and consider some activity – it is so simple!

But if you insist here is a good diet for teens.

    hi am a wrestiler and i am on the point where i may not make the waith that i want! i wheight 51.8 kilos and i whant to be in the 51 wheight class! that means that i must be under 51! i don’t want to move up what do i do!
    i swim for two hours a week and wrestilel for 10. i eat really healthy! should i not eat!

    no u should not stop eating. studys show that if u stop eating u will actually gain weight. SORRY BUT U WILL. u probably have more mussle then u have fat and mussle weighs 3 times more then fat good luke and injoy life.

    ok my brother is a wrestler and no dont jut stop eating because as soon as u do or drink water its gonna come right back. try to sweat more if u want to loose weight. some people dont understand how wrestling works but i o i know how tough it is. so trying eating just tons of fruits and veggies. drink only water and wear tons of clothing all the time so u sweat and run a lot it helps

    ok so im 16 im about 5’6 ft and i weigh about 215 im a frickin cheerleader and i llook horrod in my uniform and i just really need help loosing weight and idk how to do it. i had a deit plan last year and i couldnt stick with it, it was hard and boring i had to eat the same foods all the time and i dont want that. i want guys to like me for me and to not just look at my weight. so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know @ lizhenry14@gmail.com

    I have tried working out since I last commented on here and my mom bought that P90X wrkout. I stll dont like to execise and I eat and I cant rely on marching band cuz marching band season is over. And those workouts my mom bought r 2 hard! I guess I am going to be fat all my life!

    ok so for sheerleading we do this workout dance video and its really fun and u work up a sweat and i know it sounds bad coming from me since im still overweight and fat but it has helped me loose some weight. you can get the hip hop video at wal*mart for like 10 to 15 dollars and its fun try to get some friends to do it with you and yea….

    Hello, I am the mother of a very insecure thirteen year old. She has begun to get really interested in boys at her age. She always say “mom i need to lose weight”, and I know she is self concious at her age. What could work best in helping her to get what she needs before going into highschool
    Should we go on a diet together?

    hi, im 16 and i totally under what your daughter is going through i went through the same exact thing and the best thing to do is not a “diet” but a “life style change”. ive done the diet thing and they dont work just cut back on junk and bring on the fruit and veggies and have the whole family do it, it shows that every1 is supporting her….i wish my family would have so i hope this helped and if she needs someone to talk to let me know i would love to help her out :)

    Hi, I’m 16 years old and I have a bit of a weight problem. The problem is that I am a 3 sport athlete, softball, volleyball, and basketball. But i just can’t seem to lose any weight. I want to lose some weight quickly so can anyone give me some help?

    Im 14 nearly 15, everyone says im not fat and that im thin, but i look at myself and i want to loose weight. I want a flatter tummy and thinner legs, i do the lunges and sit ups and jogging and things like that on the WII fit, but i really want to be thin and feel happy in myself, Although the WII says im ideal weight i dont feel it and want to make myself thinner. Does anyone have any tips of how i could loose the weight?.
    I have stopped eating all junk foods and cut down on snacks, i only eat a small breakfast, lunch and dinner. I dont drink many fizzy drinks, i have the occasional drink with parents and at partys, i dont smoke or anything. But i just want to feel confident.

    Im 14 going on 15 and im about 50 pd. over weight for my age i want to get more lean,skinner, and muscular. I did exersize and diets but they dont work. does any one have any suggestions on this. I was thinkin going on a matisolisom diet than a regular one but dont know if it will work.

    But i’m havingtrouble with my weight too. Everyone tells me that i’m skinny but i don’t feel skinny. How can i learn to be comfortable in my own skin?

    I have a 18 year old sister who needed to loose weight and she lost all of it before prom by doing a game on wii called just dance its fun and you just dance hense the name of the game. But you also have to eat healthy and the weight should come right off. Get friends to join in. Hope this helps

    i’m 12, 10st 7lbs, 5ft 2inchs and has got a bit of a jelly belly. i want to lose it before the end of the month cuz i’m going on holiday on the 31st to cypruss n wud really like to be able to put on a bikini n say i think i look alrite.

    teenage people like me (13years of age and a GRIL)we tend to really care about how we look and our shape..i havent got the perfect shape and my mates areee sooo much thinner then me.i need to loose at least 1 or aa half stone to reach my goal and i will we as skinny. i really need help and i need it quick.
    do NOT starve yourself i tried it and i ended up having glandiler fever. starving isnt the way forward but i need to no what is..plzzzz hellpp me!! :)

    i am a select softball player and i am a little heavier than i was last year! i need to get under 150 asap if i dont my asthma and speed with be horrible right now i am mvp and i am captain i am scared to lose those spots but it will be happening soon if i dont step it up i need major help otherwise i am risking being the best i am very uncomfortable being this heavy please help!

    hey, im 15 going on 16, and im starting college in september. all through high school everyone has told me (or said behind my back) im fat and i just cant seem to loose it! i dont want to go to college and everyone see me as a fat girl. i weigh 10 and a halfstone and i want to get down to 9 or even 8! can someone help? i dont want to take them pills or go on any MAJOR diets i just want to loose it casually, if you get me? :D

    I’ve figured that people my age, (13 to 14) are so obsessed with being skinny. And i admit i want to be thin, but boys do like curves! So just cut back on the junk food, and go for a jog occasionally. It’ll soon go:D

    hello, i am so impressed to read all of these comments. i have a 15 year old daughter who has been going through an eating disorder disease for over a year now. she started by being obsessed about loosing weight. she kept on saying that she wanted to “feel” good, “look” good, and be “confident”. everytime she looked at herself in the mirror she saw a fat image. things got worst !!! she stopped eating…. all she put in her stomach was ice and drunk a lot of water. yes… i wont lie to you…. she did loose weight…. but she had to pay a very high and sad price for it !!!! she got anorexic. she lost a lot of weight and became skin and bones. she lost control of her weight and life. i forced her to eat…but it only made it worst… she would eat… but she would run to the bathroom to trow up. she developed Bulimia. today… she still hates it when i ask her to eat. she is still seeing therapists, but no matter how many times she sees them…. it is up to her to get better… she still has in her mind that she has to loose more weight. i hope that this help you understand that you can easily loose control of your mind once you get obsessed with the thought of wanting to loose weight. please be careful.

    Hey, I have been 1 month already without no soda.. and i go to the gym 4 times a week and workout for 2 hours. I eat for breakfast sandwich or cereal. And normally at school i eat an snack. When i get home i eat my lunch and for dinner i don’t usually eat or if i eat, i eat cereal or salad.
    Everybody tells me that what I’m doing is great but i don’t see any difference in my weight. So i wanna know what I’m doing wrong?

    i went swimmin 2day wiv all my friends and i was lookin at them and they r all skinny and then there was me wiv a towel round me wounderin shall i get in, does any1 av an diet plans for me to try and feel like i dont need to b the 1 wiv the towel always around her stumic but then again all my frineds say tht i am skinny and dont need to lose weight but i think tht i do does any1 a diet plan for me to try plz i would love to try it out and c if it works x

    Well i have always been over weight and its hard for me because everyone in my family likes to judge..even my mom my mom is always saying that i need to go on a diet but how can i when you cant find any diet plans for me…i used to cry myself to sleep because i was sad that i had to be this way..i just want to lose weight and be excepted.

    I’ve still tried to lose weight but I have gained about 20 pounds since I last commented on this website. I can do the excercise but I can’t stop eating junk food. I am trying to lose 50 pounds by the time school starts. Hopefully I can change my eating habits.

    ok so im 14 5’6 and weigh 161 ugh!!! and i cant lose wieght i might lose the inches but gain more in the end im not athletic but id like to be on the volyball team at school and i want to be a model i need to be 100lbs – 105lbs at most how do i do it as soon as posible HELP!!!

    i need a diet that i can stick to cause i have a problem with not sticking to it. im in volleyball softball and basketball but i never lose weight and i stoped drinking pop and junk food but it hasnt helped yet. i really want to lose weight before school starts again cause it will be nice to shock everyone even though everyone says im not fat but i just want a flat tummy and nice legs i’m 5’9″ and 150 pounds i know im not fat i just want a toned body and i exercise but never works
